How We Can Help

Plasma of Hope provides a wide range of services

Befriending & Wellbeing Support

We provide compassionate befriending and wellbeing support to reduce isolation, encourage meaningful social connection, and promote emotional wellbeing within the Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia community. Through regular check-ins, peer support, virtual engagement sessions, and wellbeing activities, we help individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered while also providing guidance on healthy living, self- care, and managing everyday challenges.

Assistance With Everyday Living

We provide compassionate support through dedicated volunteers who assist individuals and families affected by Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia with everyday essentials, including grocery shopping, medication collection, post-hospital administration support, transport to medical appointments, and important household tasks such as cleaning and laundry.

Assistance With Everyday Finances

We provide signposting and guidance to help individuals and families affected by Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia access financial support, benefits, grants, and other essential resources. Working alongside financial experts and partner organisations, we support our community in improving financial wellbeing, reducing hardship, and accessing the help they need to live more comfortably and independently.

Assistance With Employment And Training

We support individuals affected by Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia in accessing suitable employment, training, and personal development opportunities that better accommodate their health and wellbeing needs. Working alongside job coaches, training providers, and employment support services, we help individuals explore less physically demanding roles, build confidence, develop skills, and progress into sustainable and rewarding career opportunities.

Campaigning

We organise sensitisation and awareness campaigns to help improve the knowledge and education around the impacts on individuals living with genetic diseases, and how society can adapt to make life more normal for suffers.
