Blood Donor Registration Campaign

Donate Blood in the UK: Save 3 Lives in 1 Hour

Sickle cell disease stands as the most common inherited genetic condition across the UK, and for many living with it, regular blood transfusions are a lifelong necessity. Because certain rare blood types like the Ro subtype are found almost exclusively in people of Black heritage, there is a constant and urgent need for more donors from African and Caribbean communities. To help bridge this gap, Plasma of Hope is working alongside NHS Blood and Transplant to encourage more people from these backgrounds to give blood. It only takes about an hour to donate, but that single contribution has the power to save up to three lives.
